Something I don't get

If DOA is so against recasts, why the fuck do they allow people to sell doll boxes and certificates? It pisses me off.

I don't know what to do in this hobby. I sold my Celine (but I got another Celine head to see how she'd look with another faceup) and I bought a FL Chloe (who should be here tomorrow) but I don't know, I'm not excited about dolls but I keep buying more haha, makes no sense.

My Celine arrived last Thursday (I think) and she is so beautiful. I was watching 24 yesterday and decided I will name her Kimmy, yes that's not her nickname it's her name :D
We went through a little crisis though because I put her up for sale to be able to afford this Luka I've wanted for a long time but Luka sold. I'm glad I didn't sell my girl though :)

In other news, Wednesday arrived from getting a faceup, she's hideous and I fucking hate this faceup. It's kinda my fault though. The faceup artist got the color of her lips wrong (well she got everything wrong but I know that removing the whole thing was just going to be annoying for her so I told her that what I want changed the most is the color of the lips) I think she kept adding colors to Wednesday's lips and kept hoping that I would like whatever color came out. I sent her a picture of what the lips were supposed to look like but apparently she wasn't paying attention when she read the faceup form.

I'm really annoyed because the faceup is darker than it looked in the pictures Momochu sent me but it's my fault for not telling her to start the faceup all over again, which is what she should have done from the start.

Whatever, I'm removing this faceup tomorrow or something.

I am SO excited about my Celine. OMG.

I want a MNF Celine :)

And Nikki's making a cafe for her crew, I'm kind of excited to make some props for her but I have no idea what to make.

 I've been meaning to do the 30 Day BJD Challenge for years but yeah I was too lazy and stuff. I decided to do all of them at once though because my responses aren't too long so it's kinda dumb to do one question a day.

Why do you like BJDs? 
I like BJDs because they are pretty and perfect. The customizing part is so fun, doing faceups/sending dolls for faceups is really cool, although I'm almost never satisfied when I commission a faceup, ahaha! Changing their wigs is also fun but what I like the most about BJDs is that I can sew for them.

Do you own any? If so how many and if not, do you have any plans to at the moment?
I own a bunch of dolls at the moment but they are all up for sale. I have a Supia Hamin (tan), Littlefee Ante,
F60 2012 Juri, Sleeping Rona head, Minifee Miyu head and a Minifee Shushu. The only one I am planning to keep is the Shushu.

What/who was the first BJD you ever owned? Do you still own them? (Who is your planned first?) 
The first BJD I ever owned was a CP Delf Lu-wen in white skin. I do not own him anymore but I'm glad I bought him because thanks to him I know that I HATE white skin dolls. The CP Delf Lu-wen is such a hideous sculpt and ew, elf ears!
The doll I planned on getting was a CP Delf Shine but I ended up getting the Lu-Wen for my sister (with my mom's help) because she liked that sculpt (she didn't play with him at all though so I was the owner) I did get a Shine eventually (like 6 or 7 months after Lu-wen, I think) but I sold him as well.

What/who was the very first BJD you saw? 
I do not remember. All I remember is that I saw a bunch of people roleplaying their BJDs on myspace and I thought they were cool but I never thought of owning one because they were expensive and I was only 16.
Then in my senior year of high school I started to frequent Gardenofmoons' website and I loved her photostories so much that I was determined to get a BJD (I got Lu-wen a year later or something, aha.)

Biggest size you own? (Have held/seen/like)
The biggest size I've owned was a Dollmore Model body, it was too big and I traded it immediately after.

Smallest size you own? (Have held/seen/like)
Littlefee Ante. I don't think I can own anything smaller than a Littlefee.

What is your favourite size?
Msd but not just any msd..MINIFEES!

What is your least favourite size?
Anything that isn't MNF size :)


What do your friends think of your dolls/dolls in general?
People who know about my BJDs don't really care. Some handle the doll a bit and think they're weird/cool.


Have you ever had a floating head? What about a headless body? (What do you think you would do if you had either?)
Who hasn't had a floating head? I don't remember if I've had a headless body..Maybe!
What can I do? lol. If I'm really interested in the floating head I will buy a body for it, if not then it will have to share.

What do your family think of your dolls?
I think they think they're cute. My mom always asks me about my dolls (she even knows Wednesday's name!) and she always shows me things that are MNF size for her.
My sister likes my dolls, she plays with them/dresses them and sometimes helps me pick names, clothing styles and personalities.

Can any of your crew stand on their heads?
I don't know and I won't try. Why would I try this? That's like throwing $400 in the trash (well, if it breaks) stupid question.

What is your favourite item of dollie clothing?
Anything Foxy Browny! I don't really have a specific item.

Do you have a favourite company?
Fairyland! I also really like Supia. Luts is on the list because their wigs are reasonably priced and they're decent quality. I guess I have to include Dollshe as well but that's only because I'm a HUGE fan of their eyes, I've never really owned any dolls from Dollshe.

A least favourite company?
Is this question really important? If I don't really bother with the stuff  a company has to offer then why waste my time talking about it? If the company is not one of my favorites then I simply don't care about it.

What is your dream doll? 
I find it hard to fall in love with dolls just like that so I'm just gonna say Minifee Shushu.

One doll you love, but will never (probably) buy?
Those Dollshe boys! So handsome but too big and male! I own girls only :)

What’s your favourite doll scale prop?
Do bags count as props? No? Then I'd have to pick anything people make out of clay! As well as items I've made with it :D

Is there a part of the BJD hobby that you dislike?
Yeah, I really hate when people criticize the faceup on someone's doll or the company their doll is from. I mean, I might be thinking I don't like the faceup a doll has but if I don't have something nice to say I won't say it unless I'm asked by the owner. It also annoys me when people talk about what someone looks like/what they wear to a meetup.
Also, the rules on DOA. I'm mostly talking about people getting suspensions for dumb reasons and Ban Sidhe getting banned is just ridiculous, they didn't even bother with her. Those mods are assholes.
Another thing that bothers me about the marketplace on doa is that you have to delete an item on your thread as soon as it sells, like, what if someone didn't bother reading that the wig they bought from you had flyaways and gets really mad at you and demands a refund? Then you don't have prove of this because everything has been deleted. The other thing is when someone is selling a doll and they put it on hold and the mods send the thread to the graveyard. Mods, the thread was put on hold for a reason and the seller is never sure if the buyer is going to go through with the sale, gosh so impatient.

What about your favourite part of the hobby?
I really like the MNF community is. Most of us know each other or know who is who! I couldn't find that with dolls from other companies. Maybe it's just because minifees are so popular and because us minifee owners are crazy, ahahahahahah!

Have you ever modded a doll?
Nope and I'm not interested in this aspect of the hobby. I really don't wanna damage a $100 head and buying a cheap head for modding purposes would probably be a bad idea because I would just set the project aside and forget about it.
I've thought about opening eyes and sanding elf ears but I always chicken out.

Done your own faceups?
Yup! I think I'm improving! :D

Do you have a favourite out of your own dolls?
Um, how to answer this? I'm in the process of selling all of my dolls and keeping only one, my Minifee Shushu. I guess I'll just say that Wednesday is my favorite doll because I sold her but had to get her back because I missed the Shushu sculpt :)



Have you ever been to a doll meetup?
Yes and they aren't fun because there's just a bunch of people I don't give a fuck about and don't really care about their dolls so no point in that for me. I have to admit that it is fun to see different dolls though but I'd rather just stay home and spend time with my doll and chat with people I know and like. Making friends at meetups is hard.

I'm doing something that's prolly a dumb idea but I'm selling Leigh to be able to afford Christmas events. I really hope she sells at the price I'm asking for.. I'm definitely planning to get her again in the future but for now I wanna try something new. Supia has an amazing event that I really don't wanna miss and there's also Ddoll's event, argh!

Also, I gotta confess that I sometimes feel kind of uncomfortable with the amount of dolls I currently own.. I feel that if I sold my George and Barbra too I would feel better but I really don't wanna do that because I like them a lot (I like Leigh a lot too but she's kinda easier to get than George and Barbra, especially Barb.)

Today was a productive clay day. I finally learned how to make croissants, I'd been wanting to make some for a while. I also made more scones/muffin top things (whatever they're called, aha) to include with the dresses I sell :)

Bah, I still need to add brown for the chocolate chips.

But my sister just said my mom called me crazy for making clay stuff, aha.

I'm so happy I'm back to making clay stuff :D I'm trying to finish the clay I have so I can get a different type of clay I've seen on etsy.

Ever since I discovered Doll Divas' Diorama section I've been obsessed with making my own little space. I've never really taken it seriously though... I hope I do take it seriously enough next time to finish a diorama. Wednesday wants a bakery and I like playing with clay :)

A certain little someone arrived today... Bah, I love her. BUT, can't really sew for her, since every time I sit in front of my machine and cut fabric I end up making crap :/

Russell and her are NOT a couple, they broke up long, long ago. Not sure if they'll get back together.

Here's a LIMHWA! And she's mine! Back in November I visited Junkyspot's website and I noticed they had a tan Half-elf in stock. I had the money in hand and was very tempted to click the ADD TO CART button. I ended up not getting her and eh, regretted it a bit a week later when I noticed they were sold out.

I kinda forgot about Limhwas until January. I checked the Junkyspot site all the time (not obsessively but occassionally) hoping to see the girls in stock... I got lucky again! I had the money for a Limhwa and I decided not to waste the opportunity. A week later a Limhwa Half-elf shows at my door :)

 I like this girl, she doesn't even have a name but I'm not in a rush. 

The default faceup is yucky, makes her look older.. I really have no idea who to send this girl to for a faceup, nor do I wanna spend $ on a faceup/shipping to the artist, she'll probably keep this one for a while.

Getting this girl was probably a bad idea since that was Rhea's body fund, I don't regret my decision.

And Rhea should be here tomorrow :D

BLAH.

I haven't been inspired much this week. And I have to start saving up, which sucks but I can't keep wasting all of my money on dolls.

And maaaan, I can't wait for Ica's and Gabriel's wedding because I get to wear a dress and heels :D

I really hope I have enough for new lens by then but who knows. I kinda wanna get brown limited wigs from Leekeworld and that event will be over soon :/

I finally got pictures of Russell's faceup! Botflybaby  is FAST!

She painted Russell's eyebrows thicker than I wanted them (Gren's were supposed to be thicker than Rus's) but I don't even care they're just too amazing. It's probably the first time I'm 96% satisfied with a commissioned faceup. 

They both look so serious now <3 Gren doesn't look super angry anymore :)

But ah, seeing Miho next to Cho makes me realize how much I adore the Cho sculpt, it's probably my favorite sculpt ever. It's just so handsome <3 And I love Cho's nose.

Blah blah, here's something totally unrelated to the guys' faceups but it's something I've been wanting to do since Sunday, and well, it is related to the guys.

Like, I can see Russell eating this a lot. It's a pretzel from Pretzel Time (yuuuumy) and caramel dipping :D
